2012-13 Award Winners

VWCA Presentation Night was held on Friday 17th May at Moonee Valley Racing Club.
The night kicked off with a bang with the announcement of two Life Members.
Both Claudia Fatone and Julie Savage have contributed above and beyond to the VWCA and it was fitting to recognise their contribution on this stage.
Both announcements were welcomed with a standing ovation from the 200+ audience.
In other awards, Burnley CYMS Cricket Club was rewarded for the way they play the game, taking out the Home Ground Advantage Recreational Competition Spirit of Cricket award.
The Jill Crowther Best Administered Club award went to Kingston Heath Cricket Club, a club consistently setting high standard in their administration.  Congratulations in particular to club representatives Hugh McLean and Clare Warren for their outstanding work.
Kerry Johnson was pipped in the One Day Shield Batting Average for the first time in five seasons by team mate Nicole Callinan, however Johnson’s outstanding season did not go unnoticed, taking out the Bowling Average for the fifth consecutive season.

The June Cole Award for the Best First Year Premier Firsts Player went to 17 year old Chelsea Moscript from Dandenong. Her outstanding debut season netted 24 wickets with her leg spin bowling.

Special guests throughout the night included VicSpirit WNCL Captain and Dandenong Lions Premiership Coach Kelly Applebee as well as 2012/13 Una Paisley Medallist and VicSpirit WT20 Captain Emma Inglis.
The night was topped off by the presentation of the Pioneers Award for Outstanding Services to Female Cricket.

Sylvia Faram took out the award in its second season.
Faram’s cricket cv is outstanding, one of her most notable achievements being her involvement with the Australian Women’s Cricket Council and her efforts to take the organisation from a small low profile women’s sporting association, to a body which was considered ‘best practice’ in sports administration and game development.
